This Payment Policy explains the billing terms, subscription plans, payment processing, and refund policies for Editia, the AI-powered video creation platform. By subscribing to any of our paid plans, you agree to the terms outlined in this policy.

2. Subscription Plans

Editia offers three subscription tiers designed to meet different needs and usage levels:

3. Payment Processing

3.1 Payment Methods

All subscription payments are processed through:

  • Apple App Store: For iOS users, payments are handled by Apple using your App Store payment method
  • Google Play Store: For Android users, payments are processed by Google using your Play Store payment method

3.2 Payment Requirements

To subscribe to any paid plan, you must:

  • Provide a valid payment method through your app store account
  • Ensure sufficient funds or credit limit for recurring charges
  • Keep your payment information current and up-to-date
  • Accept responsibility for any fees, taxes, or charges associated with your subscription

3.3 Billing Currency and Taxes

Subscription prices are listed in Euros (€) but may be charged in your local currency based on your app store settings. Applicable taxes, including VAT where required, will be added to your subscription cost and clearly displayed before purchase.

4. Billing and Automatic Renewal

4.1 Billing Cycles

Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis:

  • Monthly subscriptions: Billed every month on the same date you first subscribed
  • Annual subscriptions: Billed every year on the anniversary of your subscription
  • Free trial periods: When applicable, billing begins after the trial period ends

4.2 Automatic Renewal

To ensure uninterrupted service, all subscriptions automatically renew:

  • Your subscription will renew for the same period (monthly or annually)
  • You will be charged the current subscription rate at the time of renewal
  • Renewal occurs automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date
  • You can manage auto-renewal in your App Store or Google Play account settings

4.3 Failed Payments

If a payment fails, your app store will typically retry the charge. If payment continues to fail, your subscription may be cancelled, and you will lose access to premium features. You can reactivate by updating your payment method and resubscribing.

5. Cancellation and Refunds

5.1 Cancellation Process

You can cancel your subscription at any time:

  • iOS: Go to Settings > Your Name > Subscriptions > Editia > Cancel Subscription
  • Android: Open Google Play > Menu > Subscriptions > Editia > Cancel
  • Cancellation must be done at least 24 hours before your next billing date
  • You will retain access to premium features until the end of your current billing period

5.2 Refund Policy

Refund policies are governed by the app store through which you made your purchase:

  • Apple App Store: Refunds are subject to Apple's refund policy and must be requested through Apple
  • Google Play: Refunds are subject to Google Play's refund policy and must be requested through Google
  • As a general rule, all purchases are final and non-refundable
  • Refunds may be available for unused portions of subscriptions in exceptional circumstances

5.3 Account Termination

If we terminate your account for violation of our Terms of Service, you will not be eligible for any refund of unused subscription time. However, if we discontinue the service, we will provide reasonable notice and may offer prorated refunds.

6. Price Changes

We reserve the right to modify subscription prices at any time. In the event of a price change:

  • We will provide at least 30 days advance notice of any price increases
  • Notice will be provided through the app, email, or app store notifications
  • Price changes will apply to new subscribers immediately
  • Existing subscribers will see price changes at their next renewal date
  • You may cancel your subscription before the price change takes effect

If you do not agree to a price change, you must cancel your subscription before the new pricing takes effect to avoid being charged.

7. Usage Limits and Fair Use

7.1 Monthly Limits

Each subscription plan includes specific monthly limits:

  • Video generation limits reset on the same date each month as your billing cycle
  • Unused video generations do not roll over to the next month
  • Exceeding limits requires upgrading to a higher plan or waiting for the next billing cycle

7.2 Fair Use Policy

While we provide generous usage limits, we expect reasonable use of our service. Excessive or abusive usage that impacts service performance for other users may result in account suspension or termination.

8. Student and Non-Profit Discounts

We may offer special pricing for students, educators, and non-profit organizations. These discounts are subject to verification and approval. Contact our support team for information about available discounts and eligibility requirements.

9. Payment Security

Your payment security is important to us:

  • We do not store your payment information on our servers
  • All payments are processed securely through Apple or Google's payment systems
  • Your payment data is protected by industry-standard encryption

10. Disputes and Chargebacks

If you have concerns about a charge:
